  • Poke milkweed looks similar to common milkweed but has white flowers blooming in July on tall stalks and pointed leaves. It is very uncommon.In the wild it is found in forests, forest openings and fields. It grows up to 1.50 m tall.

    Ecology:

    Nectar plant, host plant for monarch butterflies.

    Growing conditions:

    Poke milkweed is able to grow in full shade to part shade and needs medium soil moisture. Keep leaves to create richer soil.
