Sullivant's Milkweed
Sullivant's milkweed looks very similar to commom milkweed and is a monarch's favourite but is less aggressive than the common milkweed. The large clusters of pink flowers bloom from June to August and are very fragrant.
Ecology:
The gorgeous pink flowers attract many butterflies, hummingbirds, bees and a huge variety of other insects with their nectar. Like all milkweed plants it is the larval host to the Monarch butterfly. It is a great plant for any pollinator garden.
Growing conditions:
Full sun with average to moist conditions. Grows well in regular garden conditions.
