Strawberries grow to 7.5 - 15 cm tall. They spread and form colonies by runners which makes them a great ground cover. Deer resistant.
The white flowers bloom in spring, and the fruit ripens in July.
The small berries are edible. Tea from leaves is high in vitamin C.82 species of butterflies and moths use native strawberries as their host plant during their caterpillar stage in our area.
Growing conditions:
Easy to grow. Prefers part shade and average to moist soil. Its natural habitat are woods and thickets.
